Avola, also known as ‘Perla del Mare Ionio’ (Pearl from the Ionic sea) is situated on the south-east coast of Sicilly between Syracuse and Noto and the beautiful nature reserve ‘Cava Grande di Cassibile’(Great Cave of Cassibile) in the mountains.
